Remodeling is an Alternative to Hauling an Older House to the Landfill

Home improvement and remodeling is a 230 billion dollar industry because people are discovering the value in home improvement projects. Home remodeling is a financial investment that you can enjoy every day, up close and personal. It is 'your personal space' after all. It gives you the chance to display your personality, improving and enhancing what you already have, into something that will be even more comforting and vibrant. Home remodeling is relatively like changing the look of your home to a newer and better appearance and the possibilities are as limitless as your imagination. You could start anywhere, you could go for a room or two here or there or spring for a full overhaul. A few of the more popular remodels include the bathroom, kitchen, basement or guest room.

Bathroom remodeling is one of the most popular ways to increase the value of your home because there is nothing like a gorgeous new bathroom with the latest in features, finishes and fixtures. Bathroom remodeling is a must when you want to create a calming and tranquil environment within your home. The key to successful bathroom remodeling is creating a comfortable environment where you can relax and sooth away the stresses of the day. Bear in mind, when remodeling small bathrooms, you can easily transform a cramped cove into a roomy bathroom when the bathroom remodeling is done.

Kitchen remodeling is an awfully broad term, and some kitchen remodels are more valuable than others in a buyer's eyes. Kitchen remodeling is the home improvement job that adds the most value to your house. Whether it is for you or for resale, consider styles that are timeless, updating old appliances, bringing some color and light into the room. It is the gathering spot of the home, the family water hole, the scene of meal time banter and good times. Make it warm and inviting and it will become one of your home's best attributes.

Whether you tackle one room or the whole house, remodeling your home is a well-recognized way to help increase property value. Home remodeling is a year round business these days, and home contractors are available to help you prepare for the cold season, plan for springtime projects, and make the most of those frigid days indoors. Don't haul your older home to the landfill; make it your next investment.

Law of Attraction - The Ultimate Step in Creating Your Reality

The ultimate part of creating your own reality is your ability to become aware of your own dream. The dream you have of yourself and your life.

At the source of your dream are your fears which create your beliefs about how life should be. This then influences your daily dream and your waking dream instructs the law of attraction.

Think for a moment of the thing in your life which causes you the most pain and suffering? If you will allow yourself to recall it for a moment you will notice something. As you recall that deep hurt, along with it there are images which enter your mind. There are feelings which enter your body. As you are holding those images and those feelings you are in the creative process where the law of attraction begins to go to work.

That dream can always be altered right here and right now as you learn to become aware that you are dreaming up your reality in every moment. How often in the day do you think of the things which displease you? For most people that is every moment of the day.

Every moment of the day you are activating the law of attraction with your deep feelings, thoughts and images. The challenge to change this is where many people have a hard time.

Most people try to alter their conditions by outwardly focusing on them without realizing the core of their problem in the first place. You simply cannot alter your present experiencing from the outer perspective. You cannot change circumstances by forcing them or working hard towards them.

There is something very precious which happens when you do actually change something but you have been unaware of what that switch was. You do it sometimes and other times you fail to do it and then the results are the same troubling repetitive circumstances.

When you are thinking and recalling your past moments you have entered the dreaming state. You have altered your mind and sank deeper into that dream world and that501 is the ultimate creation of your present reality.

You have to ask yourself how deep are you willing to go to alter your present conditions of hurt and suffering to alter your present reality. Your application of the law of attraction will be more rewarding when you do.

Do you know that there are ancient techniques that can increase your manifesting intentions and attract what you want even faster than ever? Visit http://www.cosmic-wealth.com/lawofattraction to learn more about these secrets teachings. Daniel Hinds is the author of the powerful ebook Magic Money.

How to Explore Principals Taught In the Secret

As you live your life right now, today, you are doing one of two things. You are either growing or you are dyeing. Just like a plant, there is no standing still. There are just two possible paths you can be on.

Ask yourself this question, "If you can only accept what you currently know and believe, you have already reached your full potential. Have you reached your full potential and are you done growing?

If your answer is yes, start looking for your final resting place. If your answer is no, then the world offers you many adventures. There are many ideas for you to consider and explore and certainly, the idea that you are in control of your destiny is one that empowers you and allows you to dream.

The principals taught in the move The Secret show us that we attract everything that is in our lives. We attract the good and the bad. Some have difficulty accepting that they have attracted poverty, bad relationships and all the other unwanted aspects of their lives. For others, simply taking the time to examine how their lives have unfolded thus far offer the proof they need to realize how they subconsciously attracted what they didn't want.

One friend explained how she had always told others and herself that her lack of education held her back. Now she realizes that it was her feelings and not her education that slowed her progress. Another friend realized that his bad relationships were the result of his underlying belief that he would need to make sacrifices in that area if he wanted to achieve success in business. Until recently, he had never felt that he could have success in both areas of his life.

Expressing gratitude is definitely step one for anyone beginning to implement the principals taught in The Secret. Anyone who takes the first baby steps to list what they are grateful for in their lives will experience profound benefits. Too many people concentrate on what they are lacking in their lives and in doing so, attract more of what they don't want.

In his book "Thanks" Dr Robert Emmons subjects the benefits of gratitude to the scrutiny of science. Emmo5B1ns research suggests that those who are grateful for what they have tended to be happier. His studies indicate that people who practice grateful thinking experience emotional, physical, and interpersonal benefits.

Seeing is believing and there is empirical data to see.

I Have Been Using the Law of Attraction, But it Doesn't Work!

If you have seen the hit inspirational movie "the secret", or read a motivational blog or article you may have heard of the law of attraction. Many (including myself) upon hearing this inspirational message are excited to start using the law of attraction. However, after a few weeks of attempting to "attract" the things in life they desire many of us become discouraged and dismiss this secret as a motivational marketing masterpiece.

The law of attraction, according to "the secret" goes something like this, we attract the dominating thoughts in our lives. Therefore, simply think about the things you want to achieve in life and you will eventually achieve them. There is great truth and life in the previous statement. However, the secret does not seem to readily apply itself to real life as much as we might like it. Here is an example:

Joe needs $1000 to pay the rent in one week's time. Joe does not have a job, therefore Joe decides to use the law of attraction to his advantage and attract the money. After a week of visualizing himself in possession of the needed funds, a few opportunities in wh9A4ich the money could present itself seem to come up. He visits his parents who mention something about lending him money, he sees a few job advertisements that mention a signing bonus, and he sees a competition, which he could win the necessary funds. Synchronicity and attention have brought his attention to reality.

This is excellent progress! The law of Attraction has actually worked! However, there is a key element that needs to be inserted into "the secret" in order for it to truly work miracles. (Warning the following statement may ruin the law of Attraction for many) Unfortunately, the element that makes law of attraction work miracles is no secret at all.

The element that I speak of is unrelenting uncompromising DESIRE. The DESIRE to get what you want out of life comes only after you have ABSOLUTELY made up your mind that you WILL achieve something. The ability to burn all bridges, cut all ties, and accept no defeat will instantaneously bring us our hearts desires. The DESIRE must be firmly engrained in a person's mind before thought can actually transform into an object of reality. I am a big fan of "the secret" and I believe the creators of the film would agree with me on this point.

Basement Renovation

A finished basement can be a great place where you can entertain your family and friends by putting in a recreation room which includes a pool table, ping pong table, pinball machine, and/or dartboard.

Before a basement renovation you should:

1. Look for basement foundation cracks. Hairline cracks in the basement can be the fault of improper curing where as large cracks are most likely caused by settling. Both can be repaired with hydraulic cement if the crack is not active i.e. whatever caused the crack is no longer15C9 an existing problem. If the basement crack is still active then the crack patching may be re-opened later.

2. Look for basement moisture problems. Moisture problems may be tough to fix. Water is persistent and can make its way through the basement walls that are considered permeable. An easy way to test water problems is to tape a piece of aluminum foil to various places on the basement walls and floors. Seal the edges of the foil tightly and leave in place for several days. After several days, if moisture droplets appear beneath the foil then moisture is going through the basement masonry. If the moisture appears on top of the foil, the problem is condensation from basement humidity. Look for other water problems by looking in the underside of the basement's first subflooring for signs of leaks. Fix any faulty pipes and fixtures. Look for brownish stains on the basement subfloor and sides of the basement joists. This will indicate active or an old leak that has been repaired. If the stain is spongy, an active leak exists.

Basement renovation planning is key to the success of your basement. For instance, if you decide you want a wetbar and/or bathroom, you will need to have the plumbing done first. This would be a top priority because the plumbing usually goes beneath the cement floor. After the plumbing is completed, you need to plan and install the electric which may include hiring a certified electrician. Your plans should include enough electrical outlets, telephone lines and cable hook-ups. These will be used for your television(s), lamp(s), computer(s), electronic games, and a computer modem. Once installed, you must decide on paneling, dry walling, or painting to cover your cement walls. Although paneling might be cheaper, the refined look of drywall makes it the material of choice for finished spaces. Paneling can look dated and does not always last long.

The next phase in your plans should be the stairwell. Some professionals suggest you should open up the stairwell and install a banister because a basement typically features stairwells that are enclosed. By opening up the basement stairwell you remove some of the basement like atmosphere. Some designers would like to see the doorways of the basement widened and employ arches and columns to dress them up. Examples include French Doors for privacy or a partial separator using decorative glass to add elegance to the basement room.

When looking at windows, if applicable, add as many as you can. Basements tend to be dark and gloomy but with more natural light it becomes a better and well lit area. If windows are very limited, look into security and use glass block windows. When it comes to artificial lighting, the choices are fluorescent lights, table lights, floor lamps and ceiling lights. If your budget allows, stay away from the fluorescent lighting since it is not the most appealing in design.

When installing the ceiling, stay away from suspended ceilings because they make the basement look like a basement. Consider using tray ceilings. When choosing the color for painting, use a light, bright, or dramatic color scheme. With these colors, you can turn that dark gloomy basement into a room that opens and brightens.

The basement floor is always cold since it is in direct contact with the ground. Look at having a subfloor between the concrete and flooring space. This will make it a warmer and dryer living area and a smooth surface for your carpet or flooring of your choosing. If a subfloor is not in your plans and you are using carpet, get plenty of padding to put under the carpet. Try to have a storage room added, maybe around the sump and furnace area. This would be convenient for all those things that can't be thrown out. Think about adding shelves to this room to keep it fairly organized.

To control noise, have thick wall to wall carpeting and a high quality pad can absorb much of the sound. You can use sound deadening material below any underlayment or subfloor. This is nice especially if the basement is used for a bedroom or office. An easy way to reduce noise is by installation of thick insulation between ceiling joists.

In below-ground basement renovations, should you want to add a kitchen or bath you can tie into the plumbing system that is in place above. You can buy toilets and lavatories that are specifically designed for below grade applications.

After your basement renovation are complete, start adding the "toys" that will make it an enjoyable area where you get away from it all.

Spiritual Guidance is Always Current

Your relationship to Spirit is always current. Spirit doesn't carry memories of your past. That's a human habit we put in place, often to build our case of inadequacy. The inspiration and guidance you're receiving applies to your life right now. Spirit doesn't withhold from us. If you feel the time is right to bring to fruition something that has been growing within you, the time is right.

But just because Spirit is willing to give you what you desire doesn't mean you are ready to receive it. Very often we hold false perceptions or limiting beliefs about ourselves that won't allow good to flow to us and through us. Once we see these perceptions as false and not the truth of who we are, the veil is lifted and we allow ourselves to realize our wholeness.

In a recent class a woman realized, after much struggle, that she was a natural leader. She had simply lacked the courage to truly claim it. She had been bogged down with fears of standing out, not being part of the pack, and had the fear of how others would respond to her taking charge.

However, the moment she truly realized she was a leader and stopped hiding her gifts, her5A8 perception of herself shifted and the work she was doing changed. She no longer could pretend she wasn't a leader. She realized that by not stepping up to the plate she was creating a frustrating situation for herself as well as her co-workers and clients. Once she claimed these leadership gifts, her work flowed and more opportunities opened up.

Even if we are not ready to receive what Spirit wants to express through us, we do not have to be afraid it will go away. I like to think of it as the jack-in-the-box. We may continue to push it down, but it always finds a way to pop up again.

Although Spirit doesn't withhold from us, sometimes we want to rush our lives along, pushing against a natural rhythm. As Jane Hirschfield, author and poet, says, "Ripeness is what falls away with ease." When we are trying too hard it's usually attached to our thoughts of scarcity.

I remember wanting to get married and have children in my twenties. Reflecting back, I don't think I really wanted to get married and start a family young, but I was afraid I wouldn't meet someone or that I would soon be too old to have children. My desire to settle down and have a family at that time was driven by fear, not the ripeness of the fruit nor my true readiness to receive that part of my life.

Even though we may be impatient with the way our life is unfolding, the generosity of Spirit always guides us in directions that are perfect582 for our life right now. We are never left with nothing to do. If we feel we are not receiving guidance from Spirit, it's usually because we have already made up our mind what we want the guidance to be. You know the feeling when it's "my way or the highway;" those times when we believe we are in control, dictating to Spirit how our life should unfold.

This does not allow us to receive the opportunities that would deliver more than our limited perceptions will allow. The mystery and beauty of Spirit are that it shows up with complete individuality for each person, and yet it stems from the same source, this one resource that we all share. Our personal life energy is just one part expressing itself from this wholeness. We are connected to this infinite Source while we are expressing our individuality and while playing a part in a larger unfolding of life.

I Dream Of A Majorca Property

It was around the end of May of this year that I had decided to resign from my job in London as a counsellor and take a nice weeklong holiday to Majorca, Spain. This was a starting point in me hunting for a new place to live, check out Majorca property prices and drink loads of Sangria on the beach! It would be my first trip to Spain and I have long since had my heart set on owning a property in Spain one day. Now was my chance to begin my research.

I made sure that I was packed up to the brim of my suitcase with plenty of mini-skirts, vests, flip-flops and a whole range of bikinis. Of course, I could not leave without the odd high heels and very important cocktail dresses. I had also cleverl5A8y packed a guide on Majorca and kept in mind to visit the property agencies in Palma De Mallorca, for my search for a Majorca property.

On Arrival

As soon as I arrived at the airport, I could not wait a single moment to get to Santa Ponsa (a resort in South-West Majorca). My reaction was as expected when I got to the beach! I was mesmerised by the deep blue sea and the warm white sand that tickled in between my toes. This was my first beach holiday, every bit of Majorca was so fascinating that I was like a child walking into a sweet shop. The first thing I wanted to do was swim in the salty sea and experience the waves pulling me back and forth.

Of course, I had not forgotten about my main purpose, of researching Majorca property prices. I had noticed that the properties appeared spacious, bright and airy. Some houses were large, all of them with balconies (overlooking a beautiful view of the beach) and often with exotic trees standing over the roof. Children were free to roam the streets, and were so impressively polite to passers-by. I was beginning to fall in love with this place after only 24 hours.

Santa Ponsa, comprised of many tourist bars and Irish pubs, but it also contained many of the original traditions of Spain. This particular part of Majorca catered mainly for the Irish tourists, hence the numerous Irish themed pubs. I was expecting more tourists than Spanish locals in this area, but I 5A8was surprised to see that there were many Spanish people living locally in this area speaking their native Catalan tongue.

Property searching

I caught a bus up to Palma, a very cosmopolitan, vibrant and modern city. One of Palma's major landmarks is the large Gothic Cathedral that overlooks the sea. As soon as I arrived at the bus depot, it was not hard to spot the magnificent building intricately designed by Antoni Gaudi in the late 1800's. I was becoming even surer of my decision to purchase a property on this island.

The main city centre was busy, but it was not like the hustle and bustle of London Oxford Circus. People looked relaxed, no one looked like they were in a hurry and best of all people were smiling. I decided to visit a very swish looking property estate agent; they were very polite to me, sat me down and offered me a cool beverage while I waited for an agent to come out.

The agent was a rather friendly middle-aged man, very well tanned, dressed in a short-sleeved shirt with the top button of his collar undone, approaching me in a friendly relaxed manner and a big smile. We chatted for a short while, he explained that properties in Majorca have risen by 18% since 2004 with the average price being 750000 Euros; depending on the area one chooses to live in, you could buy a flat for 150000 Euros.

While the agent was explaining the finer details of buying a property in Spain, I could 578not help but notice that his approach was unlike any other agent I had come across. He was not trying to sell the company's services; I guess he felt that there was no need to place emphasis on making a sale on my dream Majorca property, I was sold on the idea even before I stepped into the office!

With all of the information he had given me, I decided to plan my days exploring the island, talking to locals and comparing prices with different agencies. The only thing I was disappointed with was that the properties did not come with a hunky male Spanish helper!

Anna Stenning looks at the Majorca property prices and discusses her first beach holiday experiences. If you want to share her experience log on to http://www.pmproperties.com/

Self Empowerment

Dream Symbols - The Sea and Craziness

According to the method of dream interpretation by Carl Jung and continued by me, the human being can fight depression, craziness (neurosis, hysteria, psychosis, and schizophrenia) and suicidal thoughts with safety and precision. This method is exactly the miracle required by humanity!

Everything depends on craziness prevention. By preventing craziness, we can prevent depression and suicidal thoughts. We can cure depression, neurosis and hysteria through dream interpretation, but psychotics and schizophrenic patients are not able to follow the psychotherapy alone. They need someone to encourage them to continue, because their psychotherapy takes time.

Fortunately, the psychotherapy of depressed, neurotic and hysterical patients is easy and brief. The duration of basic psychotherapy is 6 months for regular cases. For serious psychic problems, this can take up to 8 months, but this time is nothing compared to the eternal psychotherapy that many patients have to endure for life because they are always dependent of psychotherapy, usually in a group.

Dream interpretation will help everyone develop his or her intelligence.

Everyone's intelligence requires development because the biggest part of the human psychic sphere is absurd, violent and evil. This is the primitive, wild conscience that is still alive inside everyone and keeps trying to control their behaviour. Only by developing our intelligence, we can transform this wild and violent part into a human part of our conscience.

Keeping in mind the facts I mentioned, you can now understand the meaning of the sea in your dreams.

In dreams, the sea represents the unknown region of your psychic sphere, where many dangers stay hidden. In the sea, one finds sharks and many other monsters... First of all, the sea is an environment dangerous for the human being because one cannot breathe under water.

The sea represents the psychic sphere, where you have the wild conscience, which is worse than sharks and can easily destroy your human conscience through craziness.

I have already given basic lessons of craziness prevention through many of my articles because craziness is in fact the human being's worst enemy.

Depression starts appearing in someone's behaviour to alarm the person and reveal that they must do something; otherwise, they will be dominated by craziness. If the depression persists, it frequently leads to craziness.

I dared to continue Jung's research and discovered the wild anti-conscience that tries to constantly destroy the human conscience, so that you could safely travel within yourself and discover how to transform the neglected and dangerous sea you have within into a safe place, where only balance and wisdom can exist.

Your human conscience is sublime like the Earth's surface, while your psychic sphere, where the wild conscience lies hidden, is as vast as the ocean! The analogy is represented in our planet. Water predominates on Earth, exactly like craziness predominates in the human psychic sphere.

When you see a dream where you are near the sea or swimming in the sea, it means that you are near the dangerous and absurd content of your psychic sphere that provokes craziness to your human side.

You must be careful.

My basic lessons of craziness prevention are given below:

1. Be loyal to your moral principals, and always respect others if you wish to be balanced and stay far from several dangers.

For more information about this matter you can read the article "Crazy Behaviour and Basic Craziness Prevention" in my article collection.

2. Forgive your enemies. Have pity on your enemies because they were dominated by their wild sides when they hurt you-never think about revenge.

3. Be resistant to any kind of crazy thoughts or feelings. Remember, there is always a wild and violent conscience trying to influence your decisions and push you towards craziness. Don't accept to do crazy things.

4. Don't underestimate the danger of craziness, because it is real. Never think that something absurd "doesn't matter." If you perceive signs of absurdity in your behaviour, immediately seek psychotherapy.

Dream interpretation is the safest method to cure you and the only one that can guarantee help. The more you care for your dreams, the more you'll be helped. If you care a little, you will be helped a little. However, you'll definitely find help. You won't waste your time and you surely won't be disappointed.

If you continue interpreting your dreams for more than a year, you'll become a genius because your intelligence will be developed the most.

Beating Depression and Craziness

Dream Research - The Result of 19 Years of Studies, Experiences and Cures

Until today, many people believe that our dreams are merely fantasies without meaning and that those who try to interpret them are only using their imagination. This is a popular misconception due to ignorance.

However, my arduous research in deciphering dreams and comparing the results with the scientific discoveries of our time clearly demonstrates that our dreams not only have a specific meaning but that the meanings are also essential to preserve our mental health and to develop our intelligence.

To understand the entire truth discovered based on the wise messages I received in my own dreams, I had to associate the information from literature, philosophy and religion to psychology, psychiatry, neurology, biology, behaviourism, world history, sociology and astronomy.

After understanding how to interpret dreams, I treated and cured many people who suffered from depression, neurosis, hysteria, psychosis and schizophrenia using this knowledge.

The results were very impressive. While many years of interpretation is required to cure serious cases, depression and neurosis can be easily cured in only 6 to 8 months of psychotherapy, depending on the attitude of the patient.

Of course, nothing is really easy when dealing with craziness, and there is too much craziness in the anti-conscience as well as in the conscience. The bitter truth is that humans are mainly characterized by absurdity. This is why we are self-destructive and why we are also destroying our planet.

My research also reveals the realization that humans are still animals in many ways and we are constantly dominated by the anti-conscience, which is the primitive conscience that has not evolved like the conscious and is evil and very violent.

This dangerous part of the mind causes craziness to the conscience, increasing the craziness that already characterizes the conscience due to the domination of the ego.

I delayed presenting my work to the world by 19 years not because I was searching for the accurate translation of the dream messages. Carl Jung had already discovered the real translation a long time ago-I only simplified his complicated work, after discovering the existence of the anti-conscience in the unknown region of the psychic sphere.

I was obliged to wait so long to present the results of my research to the public because craziness is an invincible enemy and because the "knowledge" we have today about the human brain and psyche is very far from the truth.

The human nature is too violent and absurd, since the biggest part of the human psyche and mind belongs to the wild anti-conscience.

If I did not find practical ways to beat the anti-conscience and transform it into a positive part of the personality, my work would not have helped anyone.

I found these solutions, but with too much difficulty for many reasons, including the fact that there is no real knowledge concerning the functionalism of the human brain. However, too many theories are presented as if they were facts, although they are only personal suppositions and conclusions of the scientific world. This only distorts the truth, leading the researchers to completely wrong conclusions.

After so many years of fighting mental illness, I can only declare that all of humanity requires urgent psychotherapy; otherwise, we will really manage to completely destroy our civilization.

Beating Depression and Craziness

Benefits Of Music Therapy

Music therapy uses music to promote positive changes in the wellbeing of an individual. These positive changes may be manifested in changes in physical development, social and interpersonal development, emotional or spiritual wellbeing or cognitive abilities.

The therapeutic benefits of music have been known and harnessed since ancient times. However, music therapy in modern times dates back to the World Wars when music was used in hospitals in the rehabilitation and recovery of soldiers who had suffered physical or emotional trauma. The University of Kansas was the first University in the United States to offer a degree program in music therapy in 1944.

Early exponents of music therapy in the 1950's to 1970's included the French cellist Juliet Alvin and Paul Nordoff and Clive Robbins. The Nordoff-Robbins approach is still used in many countries around the world including the USA, UK, Australia, Germany and South Africa.

So, how does music therapy work?

Music is universal and connects across language barriers. Most people can respond to music in some way regardless of illness or disability.

Music has an inherent ability to generate an emotional response in the listener. It stimulates a relaxation response which can therefore lead to physiological changes in the body. Music is known to reduce stress thereby producing related benefits such as lower blood pressure, improved respiration, reduced heart rate, better cardiac performance and reduced tension in muscles.

Music is processed in both hemispheres of the 210Fbrain and this stimulation has been shown to help in development of language and speech functions. It promotes socialization and development of communication, self expression and motor skills. Children and adults with autism spectrum disorder have been found to respond very positively to music and many of them display high levels of musical skill.

Music encourages verbal as well as non verbal communication and promotes social interaction and relatedness. It's a valuable outlet for self expression and creativity. It has also been successfully used in pain management by providing a distraction from the painful stimulus as well as a means of relaxation and stress alleviation.

Children with developmental and learning difficulties, children and adults with autism spectrum disorder or special needs as well as the elderly and dementia sufferers have all been shown to benefit from music therapy. Although the benefits of music therapy have been accepted intuitively and based on anecdotal evidence it wasn't till recently that quantitative evidence of its efficacy started to emerge.

In a recent study conducted by the University of Miami School of Medicine blood samples of a group of male Alzheimer's patients who were treated with music therapy were found to have significantly elevated levels of melatonin, epinephrine and norepinephrine which are chemicals which act on the brain to control mood, depression, aggression and sleep. The benefits of the therapy were still evident even six weeks after cessation of the therapy and in the case of melatonin the effects persisted even longer.

Music therapy is gaining wider acceptance in the general medical community and has certainly stood the test of time. Music therapists can now be found practicing in a variety of institutions dealing with mental health, developmental and early intervention programs, correctional institutions and special education programs to name but a few. Many are having success where traditional treatment methods have failed.

How to Create Your Dream Team

One of the most common business issues that surfaces time and time again with many businesses is the area of Team. To be more specific: Team communication, motivation and ongoing inspiration to ensure they are with you for the long term and are an ongoing asset to your business. A common question being - "I just don't seem to ever get the right' people". In most cases, working with a multitude of businesses, I have found that this generally stems back to whether the business owner has decided beforehand exactly the type of person they are looking for. So at this point you're thinking well that's obvious, Mike!' - however many of us simply don't ask ourselves the right questions to ensure that we get team members with all of the attributes required for the particular position within our businesses. I generally have hired people in the past by looking for one main trait and that's the right attitude' that will fit the position applied for.

So here's some top tips' on creating your own dream team':

To recruit and hire the very best people for your business, start by answering some very simple questions like, "What do I want? What do I not want? What are my 5A8criteria?" Write down the criteria, then come up with powerful interview questions to ascertain whether those criteria would be manifested in a given candidate.

Your interview questions should be aimed at helping prospective employees to talk about the extent to which they share your company's vision, mission, values, and strategy. This should be able to give you a feeling for whether they will likely be aligned with the way you want to operate your business. Listen carefully to the answers, and you'll easily identify the people you want that will be an asset to your team.

Team Tips:

1) Keep Notebooks. Have each team member keep a notebook focused on new ideas. Talk to your team about any new ideas you may have. Have them write down every related thought, idea, aha', article and conversation. Then get together during a team meeting and share your notes. You'll be amazed at your team member's abilities to create something you didn't have before.

2) Lead by Example. As a leader in your business, take it upon yourself to model leadership' behaviour for your team. People react much more to what you do than to what you say, so make sure you are a great role model.

3) Encourage Diversity of Opinion. Cultivate a healthy range of ideas within your business. Consider that everyone has unlimited' potential. Actively look5B1 for it, facilitate it, recognise those who give it - and you'll get it.

4) Identify Your Own Role Models. Who do you consider are the top revolutionary and inventive business minds both now and also from the past? Who do you most admire in business? When the chips are down take a step back and think to yourself what would this person do in my position?' This is a very powerful tool in itself and can be highly inspirational to those who work with you.

Identify some Anti-role' models for building team loyalty. Learn from other people's mistakes if you can. Note those people who've been through team challenges, problems, and sometimes disasters in their own businesses and then shared their experiences (maybe in the form of a book or interview). Understand what caused them, and then take some positive steps to make sure that you learn from their mistakes by taking action to avoid falling into the same traps.

To Your Success,

Mike Yates

Two Quick Ways To Sort Out Your Hassles - Transactional Analysis and WHEE

Transactional Analysis (TA) was developed by Eric Berne over 50 years ago. It still stands as one of the best maps for navigating the inner wellsprings and outer seas of the human condition.

Berne simplified the language of psychoanalysis so that everyone can understand it. He noted that we all have inner ego states (regardless of our age) that serve important functions in life.

- An inner Parent tells us what we should and shouldn't do. This ego state was programmed by our own parents, school teachers, religious teachers and authorities in our broader society. This inner Parent can speak with a supportive voi5B4ce or a critical tone. e.g. "You can do better!" vs. "You sure screwed up again, didn't you!"

- An inner Adult ego section computes the logical likelihood of our succeeding in getting what we want in life, taking into account our inner and outer awarenesses, needs, wishes and relationships

- An inner Child ego state wants to express whatever it feels and to have what it wants when it wants it. Our inner child may express itself in a simple, natural, unfettered way; it may adapt its expressions of feelings in order to be accepted/ not be rejected and to have approval of parents and other authority figures; or it may rebel in order to get its own way in the face of opposition or criticisms. e.g. "I sure would like to eat a piece of that cake right now!" vs. "I know it's polite to wait till everyone else is having dessert too." vs. "The heck with it! I deserve a treat right now."

This is an extremely helpful map for self-healing. If you find yourself unhappy within yourself or in conflict with other people, and you listen to how they are speaking, to how you are speaking and to your own inner ego state voices, you may very quickly identify why there is unhappiness or friction in your life.

Fourteen year-old Tom was struggling with his math assignment. In frustration, he slammed his book on the floor and stormed towards the front door. Fran, his mother, was concerned that he might use poor judgment and get in trouB68ble if he left the house in this state of mind. She yelled at him, "You come back here and finish your work before you go out!" A yelling match followed, in which both Fran and Tom shouted angry, hurtful words at each other. Tom stomped up the stairs and slammed the door to his room.

This, just one in a long series of such interchanges between Tom and his parents, led them to seek counseling.

Having a safe space in which to air their feelings was a big help to Tom and his parents. They had been arguing and fighting like that for several years, and all agreed they wanted to get along better but seemed stuck in patterns of frustration and anger.

WHEE was their first step towards sorting out their hassles. WHEE is Energy Psychology a rapidly effective self-healing affirmation technique for releasing stresses. Everyone was able to use WHEE to let go of a lot of their angers towards each other. This immediately improved the atmosphere between them and enabled them to listen better to each other and to identify the ego states that were contributing to their hassles.

Tom was able to let go of much of his self-criticisms over his struggles with math. He began to see that he had an overly-critical inner parent - that was belittling him and discounting his intelligence.

Fran released some of her frustrations over feeling inadequate to help Tom with school work that was stretching the limits of his patience. She, too, came to sense her inner critical parent voice was blaming her - for being a poor mom.

Bob, Tom's father, after lessening his own anger, promised to come home earlier from work so he could help with the homework. This was the first supportive-parent voice we identified in the family.

Tom and Fran came to see that they were having negative responses to each other. They were reacting critically to the tone of what was being said rather than to the content.

When Fran next saw Tom upset, she responded from Supportive Parent mode, "Goodness, that math is really frustrating you!" Tom responded from his natural child (hurt, frustrated and angry), "I don't know if I can handle this math!" The discussion that followed was one in which both looked at all the problem solving options.

It is extremely common to find that you and others respond more to the feeling tone of a message than to its content. So if you get upset or are on the receiving end of an upset response, you might ask yourself, "What feeling tones are stirring us here?" This may rapidly help you understand which ego voice you are coming from when you find yourself heading into conflicts. As you practice these methods, the alarm bells will go off when the hassles seem illogical relative to the content of your verbal exchanges and relative to your wishes and intents.

The second helpful aspect to this map is that it immediately suggests alternatives to the581 conflictual exchanges. You could change your tone of voice and feeling focus from Critical to Supportive Parent. When tensions are running high, a time out to reduce the stress levels with WHEE can then facilitate smoother, more harmonious interactions.

Metal Shingles

Metal shingles were previously seen as roofing material for low-slope houses. Over the years, they have been found out to be a significant roofing alternative for steep-sloped roofs as well.

Metal shingles are usually meant to look like traditional asphalt shingles, wood shakes, or tiles, but metal shingles come with a greater guarantee to ward off rough weather. Many consider these shingles to be the strongest roofing material available. Contrary to popular belief, modern technology has made metal shingles very light, and they are a feast for the eyes, and also have very high fire-resistant ratings.

These classic shingles give a building a593 timeless look and often come with permanent color warranties. They can be made out of a wide variety of metals like aluminum, copper, stainless steel, zinc and phosphate coating, and alloys of tin and zinc. The different metals can be suitably chosen by the prospective buyer according to his geographical location and climate.

There are other minor details that a buyer should keep in mind. Stainless steel shingles are said to weigh less than most other traditional roofing material. Metal shingles made with alloys of zinc and aluminum should ideally not be painted. Tin roofs should be painted at an interval of eight years. Zinc and tin alloys are perfect for rough coastal weather. These are the various issues that should be considered before making one's choice.

There are a number of benefits that the owner can enjoy once he chooses metal shingles as his primary roofing material. They come with excellent resistance guarantee to strong wind, fires, hail and storms, earthquakes, and other such natural calamities. They are also well protected from pests and are extremely anti-corrosive. Most manufacturers offer a fifty-year warranty on their metal shingles.

Metal shingles are mostly recycled and statistics show that they are, in most cases, 100% recyclable. Installation is also relatively simple, but consulting a roofing professional would probably be considered a smart idea.
