Effective Change - Should You Use Motivation Or Inspiration?

Are you attempting to use Motivation when Inspiration would be more effective? Many people think that these two words are interchangeable. In fact and application, they are quite different.

Motivation is based on Fear.It is the fear that says, "if I don't do this thing I don't really want to do, then I won't have this other thing I want (money, love, a job)."In a carrot and stick scenario, it's the stick.

It's also the stick used on us by other people to get us to do what they want us to do - parents, bosses and spouses come to mind.Often they invite us or teach us to then take up the stick ourselves, and use it on ourselves in an attempt to reach an outcome. It is one way children are trained and civilized into society. It is the Make Your Quota or Loose Your Job many face each month.

The problem with motivation is that is ONLY works short term. And since we become accustomed and then eventually immune to repeated motivation techniques, it becomes necessary to apply a stronger motivation to achieve the same goal the next time. This can create an 'addiction to motivation' - as the number of books on self help shelves testify. People are continually looking for the next thing to get them to results. It also creates increasingly negative self talk as results become seemingly harder to achieve and failures become more common.

Statistics show people gain and lose the same 10 pounds over and over and over never reaching or at least never maintaining their goal weight, and actually gaining weight overall. This is also why the old-school "Rah-Rah" training will produce a short flurry of change, quickly overwhelmed by the old comfortable status quo.

What should we do instead?Use Inspiration along with or instead of motivation. Most especially use it on Yourself!

Inspiration is a more subtle, yet infinitely stronger, emotion for creating change.Inspiration draws us forward.Motivation drives us forward with the stick of fear.We are literally looking for ways to escape motivation.Inspiration IS fun in action. Inspired Action is light; it flows forward; it carries excitement and surety with it. Our old friend, Motivation pushes action forward, creating in effect its own bow wave of resistance and requiring more effort to achieve an equal or lesser effect.

Properly used, Inspiration is something we want more and more of in our lives. So a taste of it can be positively exhilarating and lead to more and better and easier and long lasting results.

Inspiration does not mean you can take No Action. While some enlightened masters might be able to sit in a cave and call in all they desire, that is not how it works for most of us; nor does that really sound like much fun - caves are hard, damp and full of crawly things.

The odd thing is that the very same action taken with Inspiration flows easily and achieves more than that action taken in the fear of the consequences we call Motivation.

There is an element of Timing inherent in Inspired Action that is totally lacking in action forced by Motivation. It's not logical or rational or sometimes even sensible, but when you are suddenly inspired to pick up the phone and make a call, or write a letter, or send an email, or go to a networking event - the results flow back to you effortlessly. You all know when this has worked for you.Remember when you just 'suddenly decided' to do something on a flash of inspiration and the benefits were tremendous?

Tchaikowsky said, "Inspiration is a guest who does not like to visit lazy people."And this is true. You must be in motion for things to flow your way.But mindless motion generated by fear of the consequences often produces little but mindless motion.

So a little motivation may be necessary to prime the pump, but inspiration will un-dam the river and create a more lasting flow of results in your business and your life.Use it with yourself, your employees and your customers to see increased results in all areas of your life.

Programming Yourself For Success

One Problem Basement Waterproofing Can't Solve

The best way to keep outside water from infiltrating your home is to institute a comprehensive basement waterproofing program. And whether basement waterproofing means installing complex drainage systems or reinforcing your foundation, it means saving potentially thousands of dollars in home repair costs, and avoiding the heartbreak of foundation cracks and black mold.

But of course, not all basement moisture comes from outside. Traditional basement waterproofing can only go so far toward keeping the crevasses and crawlspaces of your home completely dry. And traditional basement waterproofing can't prevent condensation from happening inside your home.

When water condenses in the remote corners of your house, it can damage woodwork and create the perfect environment for mold and mildew to thrive. Sure, waterproofing your basement will prevent moisture from wicking through the concrete of your foundation. But if your condensation is caused by poor insulation or ventilation, all the basement waterproofing in the world won't help.

If you live in a cold climate, you may see water vapor form after everyday activities like cooking, showering or doing laundry. But water vapor needs a way out of your home; if it doesn't find one, it condenses on cold surfaces like the spaces between walls, or in the roof framing. Add too much condensation to these places, and they start looking good to black mold and mildew, which can result in major structural damage, or worse, health problems. And while a leaky roof might be obvious after a few days, water inside walls can go unchecked for years at a time.

But don't worry: There's a twofold solution.

Part one is good insulation. When your home is well-insulated, surfaces vulnerable to mold growth and decomposition won't get too cold, and condensation won't form. So it's important to keep all attics and crawlspaces well-ventilated, as well as interior walls. The insulation will wick away the moisture from the inside of the walls. Insulation also ensures that not too much air - which carries water vapor with it - can escape into the attic and walls.

Part two is good ventilation. Water vapor needs a place to go, and you want it to go outside the house. Think of ventilation as a fail-safe for those times insulation can't do its job. When water vapor does escape into the attic, it'll simply head outside.

Basement waterproofing is an important component to keeping a dry basement and maintaining the structural integrity of your home. But ventilation and insulation are just as important - and the responsible homeowner takes on moisture at all levels.

Quit Waiting For Help

These Spiritual Leaders in Africa Who Are Also Carers Are Unafraid to Get Their Hands Dirty

"My sister died of AIDS" "And my sister also died of AIDS. We are looking after her family. Her husband died of AIDS too."

When this is told you and you see the little orphans being looked after by an aunt how can you describe the feeling in your heart? You are returning to Scotland next week but they are being left in this jungle village to deal with the massive matters of raising the children, feeding them, and trying to clothe and educate them without very many financial resources.

We all know that HIV is wreaking havoc across so many African nations. I have visited the orphanages in Uganda and Kenya and have met and played with those children who have lost their mummy and daddy. A whole generation is missing. What can we do? What are we to do?

I have spoken to some of the children and I have been teaching the Christian Pastors and Leaders in three day seminars - teaching them the biblical principles of good strong positive caring and compassionate leadership.

In the city slums and rural areas they form support groups, because stigma can be what causes people to feel shame. That can be overcome. it is not easy but it is possible.

When someone soils the bed, it needs someone else who cares sufficiently to clean the person and the bed!

Leadership in caring - leadership in compassion - leadership in not judging - leadership in not making the sufferer feel guilty - such qualities are scarce but they can be taught.

There is a sacrificial service which is remarkable as plates are washed and food provided for those who are weak or those who have no money to buy the basic essential foodstuff. A donor agency may be helping but as often as not such food flows from the scanty shelves of the carers.

The housemothers in the orphanages are amazing as they look after the children in their dormitory - wash their clothes - feed them three times a day if there is sufficient food - and take them over the toilet in the middle of the dark night.

The children have a little case in which is all their belongings and it is their responsibility to look after the key for their case from the age of five upwards.

There are drugs for their illness in various areas but there are few testing centres away out in the rural districts. Transport costs prohibit some from collecting their drugs - and if they miss their specific medicine for just one day they can be back to square one. Life is hard. Life is tough.

These drugs when taken as prescribed improve the immune system and the appetite returns. Some Africans will tell you - "Now I can run. Now I can jump again. I am so much more active. Three months ago I just sat or lay down."

It is my intention to return to Kenya and teach Pastors and Leaders once again in the slums of Nairobi and in the jungle clearings around Kisumu and Bungoma.

If we continue to encourage the leaders and if they pass on the teaching they receive many will reap the benefit. Everyone can contribute.

If you have reached reading this far and if you are moved find out where you can give. We support Tear Fund and I am aware of their projects in various places - and I know something of the work being carried out by World Vision.

Give where you know the money will reach the front line - where it will reach those who need it most of all - where it will do the most good. Give where you know it will not be diverted by corrupt men.

As you take out the rubbish or clean the toilet or deal with some other necessary duty, reflect on the messiness of life and pray for the heroism of those who care in the most difficult circumstances. They are unafraid to get their hands dirty!

Journal Writing - 3 Steps to Deepen Your Practice

Almost any kind of writing, can be considered spiritual if, through it, spiritual issues are raised. It is in this way that regular journal writing can, like yoga, prayer, or meditation, enhance your spiritual growth. Following the three steps outlined in this article will help you to dig deeper into your subconscious, become more aware of how emotions affect you physically, and expand your level of self-knowledge.

Begin by writing for 10 minutes without stopping. This is a common journaling technique which has many names; I like to call it "Writing the Stream." By that, I mean you are writing whatever comes into your mind, however trivial, however significant. If you are using pen or pencil and paper, do not let your pen lift from the page. Keep writing. If you are using a computer, do not let your fingers stop moving on the keyboard. Write, write, write.

As you are writing:

1) Pay attention to feelings of resistance.

If you are writing something about which you feel even slightly resistant, make note of it, by marking your writing in some way (an asterisk or mark in the margin of your paper, for example). Resistance can take many forms: anger, peevishness, restlessness, or a sudden lack of focus.

It could be about something big, like a change of management at work, or tension between you and your husband or wife. Or, it could be something small, like you have a dentist appointment or need to do the shopping - normal everyday things - and you notice that you're really resisting thinking about it, or doing it.

Keep writing. You can write about the resistance you feel, or you can write about something else until your 10 minutes are up. When you've completed 10 minutes of writing, go back and review that section in your journal where you first noticed the feeling of resistance.

2) Close your eyes and focus on where in your body those feelings reside.

If you've never done this before, it might seem strange to think about feelings residing in your body. But if you do this, I can assure you, you'll be able to locate that feeling of resistance. It might, for example, be a knot in your belly, a lump in your throat, a constriction in your chest, or an ache in your lower back. Once you've located that feeling in your body, keep your focus there. Go as deeply into that feeling as you can. Then ...

3) Ask that part of your body/feeling, "Of what are you afraid?" Wait and listen for the answer. You probably won't hear an actual "voice," but you will get an answer, via an image or thought that comes to you. It may even be a memory or story. Write it down. When you have written down the fear, ask, "What do you need in order to feel cared for?" And again, wait for an answer. Write it down.

Look at what you've written, and decide if you are willing to provide that caring action for yourself. If you are, close your eyes again, and make a commitment to that resistance/fear that it will be cared for, and ask it if it's willing to relax and let you move forward. You may need to extend the conversation and even negotiate a little.

As much as possible, write about the process. You may or may not be able to release the feelings of resistance, but I can bet that this process will bring you more fully in touch with yourself and help you to work through situations and feelings in your life with greater clarity and consciousness.

Success With an Exterior House Painting Contractor

Success in remodeling projects is something every homeowner strives for, especially new homeowners just buying their first home. A professional edge is something that most homeowners could use when trying for the best, most attractive house possible. With the experience, skill and training of a professional, homeowners will get an excellent effort and even better results.

An exterior house painting contractor will have been specially trained to paint houses with an attention to detail. This attention to detail is often what sets professional paint jobs apart from amateur ones. When homeowners try to save money and do the work themselves, they often falter and run into countless problems. With problems piling up, homeowners will be overwhelmed and are often forced to hire an exterior house painting contractor anyways. Usually, a homeowner will not hire a professional because they are trying to save money, but when they are forced to hire one in the middle of a project, they end up spending even more money than they ever expected they would.

Being able to honestly say that they are happy with their remodeling is something every homeowner should strive to achieve. An exterior house painting contractor can handle the complicated task of painting the home's exterior, while the homeowner is able to focus on smaller, less complicated projects that may not require the attention of a contractor. With the extra free time, homeowners can ensure that projects are taken care of to speed up a remodeling project, or can take the time to relax. Knowing their project is in good hands, homeowners should consider the experience a positive one.

Your Hardest Day In Life

Cardio For the FAIL

Its amazing how some gym myths are so hard to die. Ask just about anyone at the gym these days and they will sell you the common wisdom: "Cardio is the way to lose weight." But the truth is that I've seen people workout on cardio equipment for years and they have not lost any significant weight at all.

These are dedicated gym rats that workout 3-4 times a week and use cardio machines for 30 minutes or more. Yes they break a sweat and feel ok afterward but their bodies look the same year after year.

We recently got a few new crosstrainer machines at our gym. They are the latest model and honestly everyone loves them because they just glide so smoothly. One person said: "It feels like you are not working out at all." These dedicated gym members get their 20 minutes "fat burn" workout and feel like they got all the exercise they need for the day.

These new crosstrainer machines take all the "work" - out of working out. They are great if your only goal is to go to the gym to socialize and be pampered (nothing wrong with that, many gyms today are just giant spas).

But if you are going to the gym to get results and you are looking to lose some weight then no amount of easy gliding is going to do it for you.

I think most of these new machines are design to make you feel better about yourself today but not designed to get you the results that would make you feel happy with your body for the rest of your life.

The truth is that these crosstrainer machines do not work when your goal is fat loss. They tend to be a total waste of time. You do moderate exercise and the computer gives you some high "calories burn" number that to me just doesn't feel right. You have a mild sweat and breathe just a little bit heavier than normal. That is not the way to lose fat and get trim.

So you ask what is the answer. What do I do if my goal is to lose fat and get healthy. Well the answer is short intense bodyweight circuits. Its the only way to feel that burn. You end up really sweaty and feel great because of all the heavy breathing. Its a new way of thinking but short intense workouts actually do work at shaping your body into the lean fighting machine it is designed to be.

Helpful Tips to Help You Find Your Dream Kitchen

The dream kitchen is a fantasy of most people. Some achieve their dream kitchen. Some strive or ponder on how to get the kitchen of their dreams.

There is no denying that a spectacular kitchen adds value to your home. But at what cost? The sky's the limit when it comes to price. If you can afford it, it can be built. From the latest modern kitchen to the most traditional style. If you want a brand new kitchen to look two hundred years old it can be built.

The materials are nearly endless when it comes to kitchens. Man made quartz counter-tops to antique brass hardware, and anywhere in between. Knowing what's available is a major undertaking. Deciding on a particular material and then finding a material more to your liking can throw your whole kitchen plan into a panic.

There are resources available that explain bits and pieces of a kitchen design. The endless searching and deciding can be daunting.

Here are some suggestions to narrow down your search:

  • Decide what kitchen style you like. Narrowing down your kitchen to a specific style narrows your focus and helps to steer you in the right direction.
  • Finding what hardware is commonly associated with your preferred style. Brushed nickel hardware may not necessarily compliment a classical design, but is not always the case.
  • Deciding on man-made or natural materials. Natural materials often have a very wide range of colors and textures, even in the same material. Granite for example, has many different colors and these colors can vary from the same quarry. Man-made materials are more uniform and have less color choices available than their natural counterparts.
  • The last suggestion I have is to go home shows and see what's new and exciting! There is no better place to find ideas. Even better are kitchen design shows. One thing to keep in mind is some materials at a kitchen design show may not be on the market for some time. Be sure to ask if what your looking at is available immediately, or in the near future.

When it comes down to choosing your kitchen the design and materials it is always your decision. It doesn't matter if it's the latest trend or the newest material. Choose what you like.

If you are designing a kitchen ina house that you plan to sell in the future, the design should be for the potential buyers. Keeping to the popular styles and materials is a safer bet. Adding a new kitchen to your home will add value and in most cases more functionality to your home.

When you get frustrated, take some time away. Do something else for a while then come back with a clear mind. This is essential because you don't want to lose focus on what you have already accomplished. Being frustrated is OK, you are human remember.

Teaching Hatha Yoga - Could a Physical Assist Be a Sexual Assault?

Recently, an Aspen, Colorado Yoga teacher was arrested in relation to one felony account for alleged sexual assaults during 2008, in his Yoga classes. He may face ten years in prison, if he is convicted. Worse yet, past allegations from 2007, 2006, and 2005, have surfaced.

Now, the courts will settle a case, which gives Yoga an "eye sore." Let's look at realistic solutions to prevent alleged ethics violations. The last thing any Yoga teacher needs is a court date for an alleged sexual assault. At the same time, when unethical behavior occurs, the law will intervene.

The teacher, in the above-mentioned case, has stated that he has never had a complaint during the course of teaching Yoga over the past 15 years. You may be asking, "Which teacher has not made a physical adjustment in a Yoga class?" It is true that Yoga instructors, massage therapists, chiropractors, and others make physical adjustments; so what are we supposed to do?

Ask permission each time you make an assist, even if you have assisted the same student before. This may seem to be a waste of time, but make formality and professionalism a habit. Be mindful of your student's space and do not take invasion of personal space for granted.

Tell your student what you plan to do, as you ask for permission to make a physical adjustment. It goes without saying that you should keep your hands off private spaces and keep your private spaces off your students. Now you may ask: "How can I make a physical adjustment in Half Moon Pose - (Ardha Chandrasana), without getting real close?"

Based upon the hearings and court decisions of Pitkin County District Court in Colorado, we may all have to be a bit more creative. You can adjust legs, arms, shoulders, and you can use a Yoga strap. If that sounds ridiculous, consider paying $7,500 in bond, a visit to court, your studio closed, and your reputation destroyed, whether you are guilty or not.

If you assist, or adjust, students, make it known in your literature, on your website, and on your waiver forms. If a new student arrives, make sure she or he knows that you make physical assists and they have a right to refuse adjustments. If you teach private lessons, be very careful about "space issues."

We could all work on improving our cueing skills. Sometimes, making a physical adjustment seems easier than explaining each nuance of a technique. Therefore, each of us has to work a bit more on the power of effective verbal communication.

Lastly, make sure your relationships with every student are completely professional. Leave no room for misinterpretation in regard to your reason for making a physical adjustment.

Wooden Bench Making in 6 Easy Steps

Although you may think it is really more difficult than it really is, bench making can be done in 6 simple steps. After we have gathered the needed materials and tools we can do bench making in no time. We can make ourselves a nice, simple and safe wooden bench; one that will be both functional and beautiful and something you will be sure to get compliments on and a great conversation piece. After all, what's better than saying, Yeah, I made that!"

Bench making is easier with these six steps.

1. First, we start off by measuring the frame of the bench seat to our desired dimensions, cut them, and then tack-nail them together. Bench making includes drawing a curve line on the side pieces lengthways and cutting them using a jigsaw before attaching them together. This forms the seat shape. We may also form it as we see fit.

Then cut and sand the seat slats and mark their face boards. Screw the seat frame tightly together. Glue and nail the slats to the frame, beginning from the back. A inch vertical spacer will help. A good bench making design is providing a slight slat overhang on the front.

2. Second, we come to the screwing portion of bench making. Glue and screw front legs to our seat frame by first pre-drilling and applying countersink holes for screws to fit in. Do the same with the hind legs.

3. Third is sanding. Bench making is also about safety so we round sharp corners and sand the seat face and legs to smoothen all surfaces. This avoids board grains or fibers from sticking out and hurting the user. Sanding also creates better-looking seat surfaces.

4. Fourth, we deal with the back rest in bench making. Get the top rail measurement and add a space 5/8 inch from the rail top to the back part of the hind leg. This should give a 1/8 inch space at the bottom of the rail between the back part of the leg and the rail.

Then place the router tenons or tongues and vertical back slats on one end. There should be a fitting groove at the top rail. The tongues should easily fit into the groove. Glue the slats and nail them.

5. Fifth, bench making with armrests requires putting wood cleats 3 1/2 by 3/4 by 3'4 inches to support the front legs. Make a 3/16 inch hole with a drill at the midpoint of the cleat and have it attached through the bracing at the corner.

The armrest should measure from the back of the hind leg to some inches off the front leg. An armrest notch should receive the leg support of the back rest. Drill a hole and countersink atop the front cleat piercing the armrest then glue and screw.

6. Then, sixth is final sanding. Bench making should end with all surfaces, ends, and corners smoothen before painting. There we have our nice, simple, and sturdy bench.

Five Keys to Keeping Your Mind in a More Positive State No Matter What's Happening

How is it possible to keep yourself in a positive statewith all that's going on in the world right now? If you watch the news, do you ever get pulled into the undertow? Or are you one of those who can smile no matter what and make rainbows and iridescent bubbles appear everywhere you go? It may be possible that you're somewhere in the middle.

Here are theFive Keys

You may begin to contemplate the worst, but then you have the kind of mind that doesn't stay there. You can move your mind to a higher plane after paying attention to the doom thoughts first. You can transcend the quicksand's pull and move to higher ground. One way to do this isto observe your thoughts and feelings from the state of thewitness and then ask this healing question: "What would my Wise Mind tell me about this?" Almost inevitably, you will be led to an oasis of transformational thinking that will help you to view the siltation from a higher perspective.

Something else you can do is to use a new kind of affirmation. This idea is from Noah St. John in his recent book, The Secret Code of Success. Instead of sticking with your negative thought, shift it around a bit. Say, "Why am I so...?(pick a positive state - like rich, happy, loved, loving) - or whatever positive state you're drawn to. Write it down twice a day. Write down a whole list and keep shifting your thoughts.

You can also view events that take place as opportunities for learning and enlightenment. Seeing the advantage of everything is a way to have a happy life, no matter what is taking place. Years ago, when I didn't have a place to live for a while, a poet came up to me and said, "Since my house burned down, now I have a better view of the rising moon." There are spiritual gifts in everything, and themoment you see everything from the point of view of the mountaintop, you can look to the essential truths of transformation inherent in all things and events.

Some sages and prophets see in our times, that we are entering the Golden Age of life on earth and that the challenging events of our time are but the cleansing of all life on this planet. Because the light is growing stronger, it reveals the gremlins and dark spaces that are in the process of moving away.

Eckhart Tolle says that he's fine no matter what happens. The secret to hisequanimity and happiness is this "I accept things as they are."

The Presidential Oath of Office - When is an Oath Not an Oath?

The Presidential Oath of Office was soundly misquoted Tuesday as Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John G. Roberts pronounced the Oath in complete error, and Mr. Obama recited it back to him, somewhat sheepishly. They screwed it up so badly that on Wednesday evening they did a "do-over" in the Map Room of the White House.

In Article II, Section I of the Constitution, the President's Oath of Office is written as follows: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Thirty seven words. How hard could this be?

Article VI, Section 4, requires the rest of the elected officials, such as Representatives, Senators, the Vice President and Federal judges to swear an oath, but it doesn't show a particular oath or affirmation.

So, I watched Tuesday with great amusement as Joseph Biden swore an oath to be Vice President. But the Oath of Office that he swore was lifted from the Oath of Office for Military Officers, which is:

"I, Joseph Biden, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God."

There is no Oath of Office for Vice President! Only for President!

Why do I bring this up...other than for the entertainment value it held?

Because it serves to prove that the Oaths of Office sworn in the Congress, Senate, by Supreme Court justices, the Vice President and President ARE MEANINGLESS!! If the words truly mattered, they would take care to get it right.

Even when the Presidential Oath of Office is done correctly, think about these questions:

1. To whom is the Oath sworn? Answer: no one specifically.

2. Does the Constitution mandate a spoken or written Oath? Answer: neither.

3. Does the President sign an Oath? Answer: not to my knowledge.

4. Is there a contract between any two parties for specific performance for any President? Answer: none

5. Does the President execute an employment contract between himself and any other party? Answer: no

6. Is there any person or group of persons who could enforce the Presidential Oath? Answer: The Senate. In Article II, Section 4, the President shall be removed upon Impeachment and Conviction for Treason, Bribery or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors. However, the Senators have no stomach for impeachment and will likely never impeach and remove another seated President, no matter what he does. Clinton and GW Bush were grateful for this lack of Senatorial backbone.

7. If the Oath was spoken on the Capitol steps, and then again in the Map Room, then who was it recited to...and does it matter? Answers: no one and no.

For additional information about the Constitution, read Lysander Spooner's book, "No Treason," written in 1870.

So, why does anyone bother with this charade?

Answer: for appearance's sake. The American people love entertainment, and eschew knowledge. This theatrical performance makes Americans feel like their government works, and that their votes count for something.

What Is The Secret Of Life

Property Prices Cool Off in Pune

There's a good news for property seekers in Pune. The city is expanding its territories and adding new sub-urban areas to its borders. This spells more space for real estate developers and builders and more housing units for the property seekers. Adding to joy, is the fact that property values seem to be heading for a stabilisation phase. Recent reports from property markets indicate this trend.

Current property prices

Sample this, the rental value for two-bedroom house in Chinchwad East is currently between Rs 7,000-10,000 per month. These property values are almost same as they were two quarters ago. It's the same story in other localities of the city. The capital value for apartment ranges between Rs 2,500-3,000 per sq ft in Dapodi area. For Kasba Peth region, the property rates for an apartment range between Rs 3,200-3,600 per sq ft. The capital value for plot in Hadapsar range between Rs 10,000-18,000 per sq yard, while the capital value for apartment are Rs 2,000-2,500 per sq ft.

Reasons for stabilisation

Property brokers and agents say that stabilisation in Pune's real estate market reflects the trend prevalent in the country's property segment. The country's economy is facing a slow-down and it is the same case with the construction sector as well.

Ramesh Naik from Naik Navare Association, a property brokerage firm, explains that oversupply of property, especially in the residential segment is adding to this trend. "Most of the construction projects are in their initial phases. Hence, the property developers are in a hurry to sell their projects. The projects are priced comfortably. And the developers are luring home seekers with gifts and rebates. Some property developers are offering reduced Equated Monthly Installments (EMIs) and some are wavering parking fees for housing units," says Naik. He adds that many transactions are happening the actually figures are difficult to compute.

Home Contractor - Improve Your Business by Going Green

The current trends in the minds of those willing to invest in new construction, as well as in the promises of the new incoming presidential administration, is a focus on renewable sources of energy and the preserving of the planet. This trend has the potential to save this country's economy through the implementation of new infrastructure to support the shift to "going green". The home contractor can dramatically benefit from this by adjusting his materials and construction practices to accommodate the clients who want to be ecologically responsible in their choices of contractors.

LEED Certification of Products and Services

LEED, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design green building rating system is a third-party program which certifies the design, construction tools and practices and operations for what are nationally accepted as green buildings. Having a LEED certification will put your company on the organization website's list of exceptional contractors in the advancement of environmentally conscious design, and will provide your company with added exposure to an up-and-coming market sector.

Recycled Products Renewed Ideas

By using recycled or reclaimed products in constructions and implementing the use of fuel efficient heating and cooling systems, including the implementation of alternate energy sources such as solar panels and geothermal heating, the home contractor can both increase his business and have the satisfaction of knowing that his business is helping to sustain and renew our depleted natural resources.

Government Backing

It seems that the new administration is very serious about providing funding for new infrastructure required to implement green energy programs. If programs progress as Washington is currently promising, the home contractor is who not using green products and providing green energy solutions in his constructions will go the way of the dinosaurs. The resources seem to be there, the public is ready for the change, it is up to the construction industry to provide the tools we need to keep the green movement going forward.

Beginners Home Remodeling - Where Do I Begin?

One of the hardest parts for a beginners home remodeling project is to know where to begin. The best place to begin is by figuring out what you really want to get out of your remodeling project and then plan, plan and plan some more!

Remodeling is one of those projects where you can constantly keep increasing the cost by adding on more and/or more expensive options. Nothing would be worse than sitting with a half-finished project and no money to complete it because you did not properly plan it out.

Plan out your remodel either by yourself or with an interior designer or professional architect. Cost out each item that you want to include. This will not only give you your working budget but will also dictate where to start on your project and which parts you can actually afford to do at this time.

Remember to include not only the large items that will go into your project but also the smaller items like fasteners, applicators and tools required. It is easy in beginners home remodeling projects to just get caught up in the overall picture of the remodel but the details cost money also. If not carefully planned, the details can blow your budget out of the water.

And because it is often difficult to know every expense even after carefully costing out all your details, plan to add 10 - 15% to your budget to cover unexpected expenses, upgrades or sudden price increases.

After deciding what you want to achieve in the broad scheme (i.e. painting, replacing counters, flooring etc), decide on your theme or specific colors. This is necessary because some colors may cost more that others for certain products. Plus once you have your color scheme in place, you can work all the rest of the details around it.

Beginners home remodeling is not as difficult as people think. It might take some knowledge and some work but with the right guide and some helpful hints, you can have that home that you have always dreamed of.

The key is the right guidance. Do yourself a favor and invest in a solid guide like the one found at http://www.RemodelingForBeginners.com. Written by a 10 year remodeling professional, this guide contains a book as well as videos to walk you through every step of each process. It will save you time, money and frustration by showing you how to do your project right the first time. Don't get started without it.

Living a Happy Life - 5 Simple Steps to Being Happy

Most people I have ever met want to be happy. It does not matter who you are, if you are alive, you want to live a happy life. These are the 5 principles I abide to everyday. Over the years, they have helped me develop myself to become a much happier person. I hope it will do the same for you.

1. Give more than you receive

Being generous to the people around me makes me happy because it makes me feel like I am brimming with positive energy. I feel like if I didn't give to other people, all the good things will just burst out of me. I have so much to give to the world and I just love to put a smile on a sad stranger's face.

2. Don't keep score

I have never viewed my life as a contest with winners and losers. I think of it as a blank canvas that I am painting or a story I am writing. Sure, there might be winners and losers out there, but why would you waste time and energy on adding up the score to figure out how far ahead or behind you are? Put the time and energy you usually spend on keeping score into getting ahead. It does not matter which chapter you are on your book as long as you finish it with the story you like.

3. Have your X-factor

This is a tricky one. Call it your groove, funk, the beat. Call it anything you want, but whatever you call it, just have it. It is not a deity but something that makes your day flow as smooth as a river and tranquil like the forest. It doesn't matter where I am, on the dance floor or on the street, I love to just get into the beat and get lost in the world of my favorite songs. Make a playlist of all the songs that makes you feel good and just play the music in your head, groove with the beat, and just be there in the music. Nothing can go wrong when I am doing this; I can't make myself feel bad for any reason.

4. Treat time as your friend

Don't watch the clock. I try not to be imprisoned by time. I tend to intentionally skip my appointments when I feel like it. I make sure to call in sick to my job every now and then. I donated all my timepieces to a charity a long time ago, and it feels great! If I really need to know the time, I simply ask the rest of the people around me what time it is. There is no pressure on me to do anything anymore, because each day now depends on my happiness and how I choose to spend it.

5. Smile and laugh

It's self explanatory and it works. Try looking in the mirror and just laugh at yourself. You are going to feel better already.

I feel amazing to be alive today ever since I discovered these principles. I hope this will help you.

Happiness - Need Money? How About a Blessing?

The Happy Musing for the Day: Give a quick thought to your concerns and a longer one to your blessings.

Well, we can't forget about our everyday life and our everyday demands and our everyday bills, but we mustn't let them consume us. Yes, a quick thought devoted to our concerns, then a plan of action, and then the best part -- thoughts about our blessings. There is no end to those.

At one point in my life I was gone. I was lost. I was on my way out. There was nothing left of me. I was on the verge of death. Then through a miraculous healing I was on the mend. I got better and better until I reached the point where I was well again. I was so grateful I vowed never to complain about anything from then on. I had dissolved to where there was nothing left of me but consciousness. I could see what was important -- life! Not things or circumstances, but life!

So, I remind myself that during these difficult times, it is more important than ever to be happy and grateful. If you're alive, it's enough. Anything on top of that is a bonus. This may be as good as it gets circumstance-wise. But there are still big areas of growth we can attain with our hearts and minds.

"Blessings" sounds like a religious term or a spiritual term. To me it is simply a life term. There are naught but blessings. These are gifts. When you have nothing, everything is a gift. Yes, if you really think about it, everything is a gift. From having family and friends to having a job or the possiblity of a job to having something to eat, a few clothes to wear and a place to sleep. These are the outside gifts, but there are the gifts inside -- our ability to love, our ability to reason and our senses, sight, hearing and so forth, which we would not trade for a million dollars. Blessings do come in all shapes and sizes.

I'm not being passive about the circumstances we find ourselves in these days. It is just that I have always found that circumstances improve tremendously when a happy and grateful attitude is maintained. And even if those circumstances do not improve, the time working to improve them is so much more enjoyable when the heart is happy and the point of view is positive.

So, I've come to the conclusion that the best way to circumvent the present circumstances we all find ourselves in is to see them as blessings, ones that forces us to stretch our collective smile!

Home Theater Buying Guide

If you want to get that full cinema experience in your own home you may be considering purchasing a home theater system. But where do you start? It can help to begin by posing a series of questions aimed at uncovering your requirements.

Q. What kind of home theater do I need?
A. Perhaps you want a completehome theater in a box or you might want to build your own. If you're building your own you may want to use existing devicesor you might want to buy everything new.
Q. What kind of screenor TVdo I want?
A. Depending on how largea screen you want, and how important picture qualityis to you, you may want a Plasma, LCDor CRTscreen. You will need to determine whether you want to have your TV screen on a stand, attached to a wall or hanging from the ceiling.
Q. How important is sound qualityto me?
A. Maybe you want a complete state-of-the-artsurround soundsystem, and have a designated entertainment room. Perhaps you just want one that's an improvement on the current capabilities of your TV, and which will fit in to your existing space. You will also need to consider the acoustics in the room. Rooms with a lot of glass or floorboards tend to distort sound quality.
Q. What will I use a home theater for?
A. Perhaps you will simply watch TV or movies on your home theater or use it to play musicand games. If you wantto hook it up to your PC, you will have to look at compatibility issues.

Now, consider this overview of home theater features in light of your needs:

  • Type - Home theater in a box, self-built from individually selected components; home theater in a box systems offer convenience and come complete, ready to install but don't offer flexibility when choosing components.
  • Speakers - Floor-standing, or wall-mountable; there are usually a set of 5 or 7 speakers and a sub-woofer.
  • Receiver - The heart of the system. Consider channel number, power output and supported sound formats.
  • Compatibility - HDMI, DVI, optical or co-axial audio; consider compatibility with any existing audio-visual equipment including cameras and game consoles.

The receiveris the center of any great home theater system. It is what everything is connected to; the speakers, the CD player, the DVD player, the VCR, turntable and the cassette player - basically every component you have is first plugged into your receiver. Make sure it has the correct number of channels and the number and type of connections you require. You want at least as many channels as there are speakers. And you need at least as many connections on the back of your receiver as you have components.

Tip: Don't assume the components and speakers you currently own will work seamlessly with your new home theater system. Carefully compare the requirements and formatting of each piece in your system.

Feng Shui - Animal Symbols

In Feng Shui, animals are often used as important symbols in the practice of this ancient art. While it is gaining more and more popularity worldwide, Feng Shui has long been handed down from generation to generation in China. It is simply a way of life for the majority of the Chinese people. It is aimed at harmonizing all aspects of life that surround us. The belief is that when all elements surrounding a person are in harmony, then everything else increases and that includes happiness, health, and wealth.

Symbols of every kind are employed in the practice of feng shui. Animals are commonly used to attract luck and prosperity, while others are used to ward off negative forces. In many business establishments - especially in China - you can find these on the top shelves of executive offices.

Let's talk about a few of the animals that you might encounter in the homes or businesses of those who practice Feng Shui. Most of the symbols that you will see are dragon figures that are used during the welcoming of the New Year specifically to attract a prosperous year. You might also find mandarin ducks which are placed in specific parts of the house to enhance love and marriage. A Mingzu elephant, is known to usher in prosperity and to discourage burglary and violence, and it is also frequently found in business establishments and local stores. Other feng shui animals such as turtles, lions, and monkeys have different representations and each is used differently by feng shui fanatics.

In feng shui, animals, which are legendary and have never been known to exist, are also used. One such example is the mythical crane which is shown as a bird next to the phoenix and represents immortality, happiness and long life. In feng shui it is considered to be the greatest representation of stability, good fortune, support and protection. The eight-limbed lion which is also known as the garuda-lion is used to resolve huge conflicts and eases anger and hatred. The makara snail helps resolve arguments among friends, loved ones and family members. It can also help to prevent a break up among lovers and married couples.

Though all these symbols may facilitate the things we aim for in life -health, wealth, and happiness - human efforts are still necessary to meet these goals. These feng shui symbols are meaningless if we don't work hard to earn a living, or if we fail to see the importance of people in our lives, or if we take our health for granted. Ultimately we are responsible, but the proper Feng Shui animals just might give you that extra boost you need to achieve your heart's desires.

Canfeng shui improve your prosperity or even your health?Tips on creating your ultimate feng shui home and even using this ancient Chinese art to turbo charge your career are waiting for you in my free mini-course at livinginfengshui.com

Transform Your Home with Decorative Country Lighting

As we become more of a home-based society, many more of us are pouring money into our houses with DIY renovations.

Do it yourself home improvement projects are both rewarding and usually will give you a good return on investment should you decide to sell or refinance your home. But you wont need to tear down walls, add closets or buy all new furniture to upgrade or change the decor in your house. Often it's the little things that count. Small changes in lighting alone can alter the look and feel of your home or even just one room with minimal financial investment and time.

Consider going country with your lighting!

Listen, unless you're ready to spend a lot of money on renovations (in which case you'll be changing light fixtures anyway), you can get a lot of bang for your buck with carefully selected decorative lighting. And if a more comfortable, home-y feel is what you're after, there's no better way to achieve your goal than to look to the current trend of country decorating!

The reason why this style of decorating is so popular these days is because garden or farmhouse inspired rooms ground us in old world values. A space where our organic bodies feel 'in touch', our psyches feel 'safe', and stress levels drop. After all, what is more peaceful than spending a few hours in the garden, a weekend at the country home, or a week at the summer cottage?

Bring country decorating home to the city with country inspired lighting!

You could drive around for hours looking for antique lighting, shop ebay for other's used lighting, or you could buy new lights from many lighting stores that will give you the same rustic, relaxed, retreat.

Think punched tin, replications of candle chandeliers, small lamps that depict a cowboy or horse scene. You get the idea. Be as tacky, playful or downright country as you like.

And, for under $200 and 20 minutes of replacement installation, you'll find that you've just transformed a city-worn room into your own personal country haven.

Ten years ago, Martha Stewart brought pendant lighting back into style using upturned garden cloches hung from chains over bare bulbs. That can take some real hunting in the antique shops!

Thankfully pendant lighting is now available in many shapes and sizes. And, you don't have to stick to dull or boring. Pendants are available to look much like the old, color-glass, hand-blown garden cloches or as punched tin - both are very 'country' looks.

Buying New Construction - 5 Tips What to Do When Buying Foreclosure New Construction Homes

Banks are overloaded with foreclosure and soon to be foreclosed properties yet they still try to hit a home run with every deal. New construction properties are a different animal the banks want to dump them ASAP. Homes are usually incomplete, costs hundreds or thousands to close up and make secure. They are in a fast state of deterioration only a special investor buyer knowledgeable in construction is willing to look much less buy.You can be one of those buyers here are some tips to help make the process go in the right direction for you. If you are not an experienced builder or general contractor hire one to do a preliminary inspection you also should talk with a structural engineer if the home is still in the framing stage or not drywalled.

Architectural plans for an unfinished house are a must. Contact the original builder its worth a try. The local city or county building department should have a set on file whether they will let you copy them is another story. In a community with architectural review check with the HOA architectural review committee they may hold a set of plans. Subcontractors if they can be located may also have a full set.

City or County building departments. Check with the local building department and health departments determine what permits have been issued on this property and what is the status. Will they reissue the permit in your name or that of your contractor, can you continue to complete the home? Who are the permit holders for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, well and septic system these contractors may not have been paid for work completed.

Subdivision issues. Are the roads, curbs & sidewalks complete? Has the section you are buying in received final city/county approval? Are the common areas completed the pool, playground, tennis courts, boat slips, club house all amenities promised by the developer? If not does the city/county hold a completion bond on all this type work?

Homeowners Association issues. Your subdivision HOA can have as much control over what you can and cannot do regarding your property as the city/county building departments. Are there any outstanding complaints against the builder? Are the plans fully approved by the Architectural review committee? Is the new home being built according to the approved plans? The HOA can stop you in your tracks it's best to check with them early in the process.

Choosing an Exterior Paint For Your Home

To update the exterior of your home the best thing to do is to paint. A fresh coat of paint of basically anything can make it stand out and come to life. The exterior of a home can be updated by many things such as decorations or landscaping, but a new paint job can definitely make a residence look even better.

Choosing what color to paint the exterior of your home can be the most difficult decision of all. You have to take into consideration the color of the brick, siding, roof and other exterior features when deciding on your color. The color of a house should be an accent to the many outdoor features on that specific house. Not only should the color that is chosen for your home accent the other colors that are part of the house but it should also match the style that the home projects.

Sometimes it is a good idea to not only choose a color for the main parts of the dwelling itself but a new hue to paint the shutters, windows or doors of the dwelling.

You have to also consider when painting what your home will look like in all seasons. If you decide to paint your home in the summer months and the sun is shining brightly and giving a certain sparkle to the hue of the house it may not look the same in other season. You must make sure that your residence can look presentable all year long, not just in one season.

When you go to choose the paint for your home you may have a difficult time with picking which one is right for you and the theme of your house. Whatever paint store you decide to use to purchase your paint there should be experts that can help you pick the hue that will best suit you and your home.

Kathleen Whitlow is a copywriter and marketing agent of Preferred Siding. The siding contractor provides James Hardie siding and painting services throughout the Northern Virginia area. For more information on their Siding and Painting Services please visit their website.

Everything I Need to Know In Life I Learned From My Dog

I was mooching around the Self-Help section in my local Barnes and Noble the other day when I got to thinking about the first Self Help book I ever read. Most of the early ones were actually based on psychology and written by psychologists. Remember Im OK. Youre Ok.? It actually had pie-charts and you needed some intelligence to get through it.

I remembered, too, that during the rise of the Feminist movement in the Seventies the greatest of all self-help books were feminist books. Heady political stuff. These books actually changed the course of lives. How well I recall my first Consciousness Raising group. It was full of scary looking women in black mao slippers carrying well-thumbed copies of Simone de Beauvoirs Second Self. I was introduced to many of these books in my Assertiveness Raising Groups. A phenomenon so familiar, back then, we would casually refer to it, over our Chablis and Fondue, as A.R. Groups. As in Whose A.R. group are you in? I dont think A. R. Groups even exist these days. Why would they? Theyve gone the way of Betty Crocker and hipsters. Anyway, those books were rare gold. Passed around, recommended, endlessly discussed and few and far between.

Now, Self-Help rivals only Computer Software as the largest department in any bookstore. Everybody, it seems, has something to say. Self-help books are opinion pieces. And some of them are opinion pieces in very slim volumes with very big writing. And just to make things really interesting we know nothing about the writers so as to evaluate whether their opinion is actually worth more than a bus ticket and a cup of coffee. Do this. Do that. They are written by the dying the sick, the addicted, the narcissistic. Especially the narcissistic. Everybodys got the secret of life. Or at least that magic bullet which will help you go one or two days more.

Because theres no FDA to regulate the claims of these books theres no redress. And, being human, were all looking for short-cuts. As if theres a substitute for doing the work yourself. I personally believe that self-improvement is an inside job. Its not a How do I more a Why cant I. Most people know what they have to do they just dont want to do it. (Stop bingeing, drinking, whining, blaming everybody else. Get your butt off the couch and welcome the day and take responsibility for your life).

Of course, the placebo value is great. You actually may be getting something really valuable. But you dont know how your life wouldve turned out if you hadnt read them. Although I will cheerfully borrow self-help books I dont buy them for the same reason that I dont take expensive supplements or vitamins. Theres no quanitifiable measure of investment. The half-life of my vitamin intake is about two weeks or whenever I come to the end of the bottle, whichever comes sooner. Then if I am not halfway through writing the Great American Novel or training for a triathlon I lose interest and assume they didnt do anything. I guess the books make you think a little more. Another advantage is that by giving you shrink-wrapped pre-packaged insights they save you the work of actually trying to figure out this stuff yourself. Kind of like some people figure theyre off the hook for eating right if they supplement their diet with pre-fabbed nutrients.

And you cant argue with any of them. None of them suggest that you criticize your neighbor or cut people off on the freeway. Its all "be nice to people. Cherish your family. Dont limit your potential". All based on good solid Judeo- Christian, Buddhist, Bill W. values. All whirled together in one big centrifuge

They work on fear. If you dont do what they exhort you to do you run the risk of not succeeding; not achieving or reaching your potential.. What if you end up eating cat food all alone and this was the one last thing you hadnt tried?

So, again, there I was mooching around the Self-Help section the other day half-expecting to come across Everything I need to know about life I learned from my Manicurist When I realized that, actually, everything I need to know in life I probably learned from my dog.

You dont know him but hes quite a distinctive individual. Hes brave, relentlessly optimistic, completely present and entirely without artifice. What you see is definitely what you get. Hes also a great listener. Hes scared of a big monster dog which lives a few doors down and lunges at him each time he passes. So my boy steels himself and trots as quickly as he can past the terrifying fence to get to his favorite pee spot. No eye contact. He comes back the same way at a run. He gives me a hurried, frightened look as if to say Waddya gonna do? . If I leave him alone he sleeps. If I take him out he runs around happily and breathlessly until he can run no more. Either way works. He never holds a grudge and is always willing to kiss and make up if I hold a grudge. He is an opportunist and will take whatever he feels he needs i.e. any food that falls on the floor or looks like it might fall on the floor.

He trusts that the Universe, aka me, will provide for his needs. Hell walk over to his bowl and if theres food in it hell eat - if its empty hell go back to sleep until food appears..Either way works. He doesnt pace the floor worrying about when the food will come and if it will be enough or if it will be his last meal or if its meeting his nutritional needs.

I love my little guy with all my heart. After all - he'4CEs my guru. Im just trying to figure out how to translate his teachings into my own life.

How in the World Do You Decorate Your Bathroom?

If you're bored with the cold winter months and want to do something to put a little spice in your life, you might consider doing some remodeling in your home or apartment. Nothing will perk you up like having bright, fresh rooms to come home to. As the two most important and used rooms in any home, the needs of your bathroom and kitchen are the first ones you should look into.

As we said, these rooms see more use than most of the other rooms do; however, they are often the most neglected and rundown, too. Think about how long its been since you made any attempt to make over one of these rooms. When you think about it, you're probably going to realize that its been a long time since you even considered it.

Even if you have noticed things around the bath that you thought looked kind of bad, you probably shrugged and went about your business saying you didn't have time to undertake a room overhaul. And back whenever you thought this, the room probably didn't look nearly as bad as it does now. Things like this tend to creep up on you. Even if you've been keeping your rooms white-glove clean, there are still things that get worn and outdated.

I dare you to go into your bathroom and take a really close look. So what do you see? Maybe the curtains look limp and worn, and the bathroom rugs are getting a bit threadbare. Are those soap dishes you're still using those two-piece plastic models that were popular back in the '70s? As I'm sure you've heard before, they don't make things the way they used to, and if you look at your outdated items, you'll probably see why.

Start by getting rid of all the unnecessary junk, and buy yourself some new, updated accessories. There is an amazing selection to choose from these days. You may have even been eying a gorgeous bathroom set in a store. By getting rid of the old junk, you'll have a reason to go out and treat yourself to it.

Make sure that whatever you buy is sturdy and water resistant. After all, these items are going to get a lot of use, and they're going to be exposed to water, soap, and other spills. You'll want your rugs to be machine washable so that when they get dirty you can just pop them into the wash and have them come out looking like new.

If you'd like to find some new, innovative ways to decorate your bathroom, there are numerous places you can draw inspiration from. For instance, there are mail-order catalogs with everything you could possibly want. It's possible that the catalogs will give you ideas you can use in order to substitute a less-costly item for the one they have pictured.

All it will take to get you going is some catalogs or websites where you can start getting ideas. Then your own ingenuity and creativity will start coming into play as you begin designing the ideal spaces for your kitchen and bath. What started as a small change could end up snowballing on you, and, if it does, you're going to love your gorgeous new rooms.

Have you considered any bathroom decor ideas lately? How about a Lladro Bathroom? It doesn't have to be expensive. Find out more at http://www.bathroomstyleguide.com

7 Steps to Get Anything You Want in Life

In this article we are literally giving away the keys to the castle, having studied the majority of self-help materials on the market I have never seen this information broken down and clearly presented ready for anyone to use.

Apply this practical strategy and you can get anything you want in life.

Its important that you understand that this strategy works when all the steps are applied, if you decide to omit any of the steps then your results may vary, but when used together they form the most powerful and effective strategy you'll ever need in creating whatever you want in life.

1. Decide what you want and why you want it

  • Dream BIG Dreams (big dreams inspire you and they give you purpose), when you commit to a big dream your subconscious mind will come up with big ideas to make it happen.
  • Get a clear and compelling vision - Write it down with as much clarity as possible (this forces you to think it through).
  • Define your reasons why (reasons and desire are the fuel for achievement).
  • Do you believe it is possible? - You must believe it to achieve it!

2. Define measurable goals that move you in the direction of what you want
  • Analyse your starting position - where are you now?
  • Determine how far you have to go - where are you going?
  • Define the goals that take you in the right direction, make sure the description of your goal is specific so its clear when you have completed it.
  • Set a deadline (a goal is a dream with a deadline), without a deadline you have no pressure to complete it and you will likely procrastinate, but remember that the deadline is for focus not for failure, if you don't achieve it by the deadline don't consider yourself a failure just learn from the experience, review the goal and set a new deadline.
  • The purpose of the goal is to move you in the direction of your vision, but remember the goal is not the vision.

3. Identify for each goal the steps of action required to complete it
  • Identify the obstacles you will have to overcome (if there are no obstacles it is just an activity).
  • Identify the additional knowledge or skills needed to accomplish your goal.
  • Identify the people, groups and organizations that you will need assistance from.
  • Make a plan - an organized list of activities.

4. Apply visualization and affirmations to program the sub-conscious mind with the desired results
  • See your goal (imagine it) as a reality every day, affirm it to yourself like you have already achieved it.
  • Act as if you have already achieved the goal (how would you feel) - combine emotion with imagination and you will activate forces within yourself that will magnify your ability to create the desired result.
  • Create a vision board; stick up pictures that represent your goals. This will reinforce pictures of your goals into your sub-conscious mind.

5. Take action
  • Make a personal commitment to take one step (big or small) in the direction of your goals each day.
  • Back your goals and plans with Persistence, Discipline and Focus; these characteristics will make you unstoppable.

6. Review your results and adjust your plan of action accordingly
  • Do not become attached to the outcome, this will likely create a sense of desperation that will hold you back.
  • Become open to the fact that the outcome may not be exactly what you intended but instead believe that something of an equal or greater nature will result.

7. Raise your conscious awareness
  • Become more aware of your thoughts, let your emotions act as your guide, remember good thoughts create good feelings so use your built in warning system to let you know when you are thinking in the wrong direction.
  • Keep your attention and focus on what you want; if you find yourself thinking about what you don't want you must bring your thoughts back to what you DO want.

To get the best results please take the time to get the application of this strategy in writing and read it daily, we recommend that you make use of the Life Energizer to assist you in making this happen, then apply affirmations and visualization to program your mind with the desired results. By combining the techniques of focus, visualization and affirmations you will instruct your brains Reticular Activating System (RAS) to notice the people, opportunities and ideas to help bring these written goals to life.

Embracing a Prosperous New Year - 4 Easy Things That Will Focus Your Resolutions

Each year, the whole world brings in the new year with a bang-lights, music, the loud roaring countdown in hundreds of languages across the earth's vast landscape. Typically, though, late morning on New Year's Day arrive and, sleepily and wishfully, people create their list of resolutions, or promises to change. These scribbles are usually lack a detailed description and plan and go something like, "I'm going to eat better" or "exercise more" or my personal favorite, "I'm gonna get rich." Instead of longing for these things for yourself, I challenge you to really get to the root of who you are and what is important to you.

Crystallizing your dreams can bring new opportunities and lead you on the path to living a rich life. You have one chance a year to sit down and do this! And these changes are for you and you alone-what a gift! Resolutions that manifest into action also benefit those who spend the most time with you, but really, this formula for success is yours. You have a clean slate on January 1, 2009. It is kind of like the start of a school year and you have new pens and a fresh notebook. Now-do your homework!

First, make a list of ten values that you embrace.

Honesty, integrity, hope, kindness, healthy living, quality family time...whatever they may be write ten down in ink!

Second, choose your top three (just three!) from this list that you want to work on this next year and attach one specific action to each value.

For example: If you are choosing honesty-you might say, "I am going to be honest with myself about what I want and deserve in a relationship."

Third, set a specific date and write down your plan.

For example, By May 31, 2009 I will have demonstrated honesty, healthy living, and prosperity in my life. I will do this by being honest with myself about what I want and need in a relationship and writing this down, going to my yoga class once a week, and starting and maintaining a home based business. Read this aloud once a day. This step helps to solidify your promise to yourself by serving as a reminder and a deadline. If you have a specific date in mind, your goal is easier to shoot for.

Fourth, visualize these changes taking place.

See them in your mind and feel how good it feels to demand the best for yourself in a relationship. Feel yourself after having completed an intense yoga session. Feel what it is like to have a business bank account that is overflowing with money.

Focusing your promises with these four steps will help you avoid feeling overwhelmed as the year begins. Your resolutions may be much different than the ones I have described. But no matter which personal values are most important to you, the same formula work as long as you take action and do what you intend to do. When you set a specific date and plan of action that you read aloud to yourself every day, you will find that it is important that you keep this promise to yourself. You may also find that it is actually effortless to keep this promise. Remember, it is for you, no one else. Once the date that you decide on arrives, you can see all that you have accomplished! Best of luck and here's to a happy, prosperous, fulfilling 2009!
